Bring your lunch and learn the basics of divorce law in Hawaii and the basics of Family Court rules and procedures relating to divorce, divorce forms, common motions and how to prepare for hearings or trials. Topics covered will include jurisdiction, custody and support of children, visitation, alimony, and division of assets and debts. Upon the completion of training, pro bono attorneys can accept a case through Legal Aid Society’s Partnership in Pro Bono Project (if available).
These trainings are offered free of charge to attorneys interested in taking a pro bono case with Legal Aid. Each course has been approved for a 1 hour credit for both Hawaii and California CLE credit. Attendees will receive 1 VCLE credit for Hawaii which may be converted to 1 MCPE credit upon the completion of a pro bono case with Legal Aid.
