Climate change and population conference on Africa

The Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana, announces the "Climate Change and Population Conference on Africa" to take place in Accra from July 01 – 04, 2012. Applications are invited for the submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations. There are also opportunities to organise Symposia and pre-workshop events.

The theme of the conference is "At the crossroads: climate change, population and Africa's development", with a number of subthemes including:
-Climate variability and change, vulnerability and food security
-Climate variability, drought and water resources
-Coastal systems, sea level rise and livelihoods
-Climate modelling, downscaling and scenario selection
-Climate change, gender and poverty
-Indigenous knowledge and climate adaptation
