Peripheral Views into the Collection, Session Two: 1960-Present

Join museum staff for a special two-session viewing of original works from the MoCP’s collection selected for their connection to themes explored in the exhibition Peripheral Views: States of America, including artists who have considered American life, culture, and politics in their work. The second session will continue following the trajectory of such photographic genres as documentary and the road trip from the mid-twentieth century to the present, while also encompassing a conceptual turn in photography. Selections will include Lewis Baltz of the New Topographics, Robert Heineken, Andres Serrano, Justin Newhall, and Dave Jordano of the Midwest Photographers Project.
